Lucille Marjorie Schuyler

Lucille Marjorie Schuyler, 90, of Knappa, Ore., died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at her home.

She was born July 9, 1919, in Donnybrook to Albert and Grace (Rutherford) Ennis. She was raised in Donnybrook and graduated from high school there in 1937.

In 1941, she married Harold Longre in Plentywood, Mont.

On Aug. 23, 1949, she married Edward D. Schuyler in Vancouver, Wash. He preceded her in death in 1989.

In 1949, Mrs. Schuyler came to Oregon. She was a homemaker and also worked in the canneries. She then was a cook for the Knappa School District for many years, retiring in 1985.

Family members said she enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening, making ceramics and visiting with family and friends.

She is survived by: a son, Jim (Peggy) Longre of Kelso, Wash.; two daughters, June McConkey of Donald, Ore., and Patsy (Pete) Ball of Knappa; a stepdaugher, Betty (Corkey) Johnson of Knappa; two sisters, Shirley Quigley, of Minot, and Peggy Turner, of Hayward, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Madonna Ennis, of Williston; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: a stepson, Raymond Schuyler; a son, John R. Schuyler; a stepdaughter, Helen Kochen; two grandsons, Matthew and Franklin Clingenpeel; and a great-granddaughter, Amy Johnson.

A memorial was held at Immanuel Lutheran Church with a reception at the Hilda Lahti Elementary School in Knappa.

A private graveside service took place at Knappa Prairie Cemetery in Oregon.
