Barbara Ebach

Barbara Ebach, 95, Vonore, Tenn., and formerly of Minot, died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, in her daughter's home in Vonore.

Barbara was born Nov. 17, 1914, in Towner to Peter and Magdalin (Jaeger) Haman. She was raised and educated in Berwick Township and completed her formal education in the area. She worked on the family farm near Towner following her education until gaining employment at the Rugby Hospital.

Barbara was united in marriage to Clements Ebach on Nov. 13, 1939, in Towner. They made their home in Pierce County until 1941, when they moved to a farmstead near Towner. Following the death of her husband on Sept. 10, 1949, she moved to Towner and resided there until moving to Minot in 1969.

Barbara began work at Trinity Nursing Home in 1969 as a nurse's aide, working until her retirement in the mid-1980s.

In retirement she remained active as a volunteer at Trinity Homes and as a member of the St. Joseph's Auxiliary, working in the giftshop.

Barbara was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church in Minot and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She was active in 4-H in Towner, serving many years as a leader. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, gardening and embroidery.

Surviving family includes: Children, Bonnie Fox, Ballantine, Mont., Marie Kenney, Minot, Marlys (Tom) Peck, Vonore, Tenn., Janice Six, Anchorage, Alaska, Bernadette (Jim) Franklin, Jackson, Mich., and Donata "Dee" (Jeff) Balentine, Minot; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters, Katherine Lundeen and Beatrice Tolle, both of Denver; brothers, Joe P. Haman, Towner, Clemence Haman, Rugby, Billy Haman, Devils Lake, and Richard Haman, Wilton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Clara Schatz, Eva Kuhn, Elizabeth Caron and Sister Juliana; brothers, Adam and Fred Haman; and son-in-law, Jim Kenney

Funeral Mass: Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.

Prayer service: Sunday, Nov. 29, at 7:30 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

Interment: St. Cecelia Catholic Church Cemetery, Towner.

Visitation: Sunday from noon until 4 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
