He was born Nov. 12, 1964, to O. Beryl and Duane Abernathey Sr. in Minot. He was once married to Sandra Ihli and also to Julie Wagner.

Survivors: two grandsons; sister, Susan Payne, Bedford, Va.; brothers, Duane Jr., Lansford, Tony, Burlington, Carl, Minot.

Burial: Today, 2:45 p.m., Lansford Cemetery.
