Alvina H. Williams
Feb. 12, 1917-Nov. 21, 2009Alvina H. Williams, 92, Minot, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, in a Minot nursing home.
Alvina H. Larson was born Feb. 12, 1917, in Blaisdell, the daughter of Louie and Constance (Evenson) Larson. She graduated from Palermo High School in 1935.
Alvina married Russell Williams May 10, 1941. They lived in Minot until 1969 when they moved to Fargo. After working many years as a nurse's aid, she retired in 1983, at which time they again returned to Minot, where she lived until her death.
Alvina was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and a former member of the Moose Lodge Auxiliary.
Those who shared in her life: sons, Michael, Fargo, David (Virginia), Carlton, Ore., and Gregory (Judy), Berthoud, Colo.; seven grandchildren, Rachel, Sadie, Vanessa, Jake, Dennis, Elizabeth and Karmen; five great-grandchildren, Fate, Quentin, Sebastian, Jake and Joey; brother, Clifford (Lois) Larson; sister, Kathleen (Charles) Pratt; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Alvina was preceded in death by her husband, Russell in 1984; daughter, Virginia Williams in 1998; daughter-in-law, Betty J. Williams in 2008; sisters, Geneva Sundt, Doris Stevick and Bernice Johnson; and brother, Lavern Larson. She will be missed.
Funeral: Friday, Nov. 27, at 1 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
Visitation: Friday, Nov. 27, from 10 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
