Violet L. (nee Paige) Johnson, a resident of Thiensville, Wis., formerly of Minot, N.D., entered into eternal life on Friday, Nov. 13, at the age of 90 years. She died in Mequon, Wis.
Vi was born July 20, 1919, in Denbigh, N.D., to Marion C. and Ethyl Rose (nee Wager) Paige. She grew up near Towner, N.D., and moved to Minot in the late 1930s.
In October 1948 she married George Arvid Johnson. They had a son, Gregory George, in 1951. Vi worked at a number of jobs in Minot, including Woolworth's, the American Legion as a waitress, and more than 20 years as a pharmacy assistant at Medical Arts Pharmacy.
She was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Minot. Vi loved sports and was a devoted fan of the Minnesota Vikings, Twins and Timberwolves.
Vi moved to Minneapolis in 1998 to live with her sister, Mavis. She moved to Mequon, Wis., in 2004 to be closer to her family, including her granddaughters, Kiley and Whitney, who were the loves of her life.
Vi was preceded in death by her husband; mother; father; brothers, LaVerne "Buster," John "Harold," and Edgar; and sisters, Blanche, Nellie, Fern and Mary Lou.
She is survived by: her sister, Mavis Iverson, St. Louis Park, Minn.; her son, Greg (Jackie) of Mequon, Wis.; and her granddaughters, Kiley and Whitney.
Memorial services: Saturday, Nov. 28, at 11 a.m. in Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral and Cremation Service, Mequon, Wis. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 10 a.m. until the memorial service. (www.schmidtandbartelt.com)
