RUGBY Gladys Julia Strand, 91, Rugby, formerly of Barton, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, in a Rugby nursing home.

She was born Dec. 23, 1917, to John and Ida Ness near Barton. She married Elmer Strand June 21, 1937, in Barton.

Survivors: sons, Gerald, Barton, Ron, Fargo; daughters, Jean Benson, Pelican Rapids, Minn., Linda Lenton, Norwich, LaVonne Hedquist, Miami; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; sisters, Ruth Fosness, Willow City, Alida Fosness and Irene Lehman, both Rugby.

Funeral: Monday, 10:30 a.m., First Lutheran Church, Rugby.

Burial: West Barton Lutheran Cemetery, Barton.

Prayer service and sharing of memories: Today, 7 p.m., in Anderson Funeral Home, Rugby.

Visitation: Today, 5 to 7 p.m., in the funeral home, and Monday, one hour prior to the service, in the church.
