Thomas Martin Smith
Jan. 10, 1951-Oct. 25, 2009Thomas Martin Smith, 58, Port Orchard, Wash., died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, in his home from complications of cancer.
He was born Jan. 10, 1951, to Keenan and Marjorie Smith in Minot. He graduated from Minot High School in 1969. He joined the Navy in 1971 and retired from the Navy after serving for 20 years. He married Terece Gilstrap on Aug. 16, 1975, in Moscow, Idaho.
Thomas loved the outdoors and had a passion for fishing. Spending time with his wife, son, daughter-in-law and granddaughters gave him great joy. He was deeply religious.
He is survived by: his wife; son, Bryan (Marnie), of Cheney, Wash.; two granddaughters, Katarina Smith and Isabelle Smith, of Cheney; brothers, Paul Keenan Smith, Brownsville, Ore. and John F. Smith, Columbus, Ohio; and sisters, Catharine J. Windmueller and Mary Clare Smith, both Minot.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Rill Chapel-Life Tribute Center, Port Orchard.
