Marcella M. Lonsdale, 95, New Hope, Minn., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, with her family at her side.

She was born Oct. 31, 1914, to Charles and Grace Callahan in Minot. She married Richard E. Lonsdale Dec. 28, 1939, in Minot.

Marcella was a registered nurse, a tireless volunteer, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as a steadfast friend to many.

Survivors include: her son, Thomas (Sharon Drake), of Ames, Iowa; daughter, Jean M. (Tom) Melander, Apple Valley, Minn.; grandchildren, Michael Melander (Lindsey), Apple Valley, Susan Lonsdale (Mark Stith), Seattle, Tony Lonsdale, Billings, Mont.; great-grandchildren, Alice and Aiden Melander; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: husband, Richard E. in 1988; parents, Charles and Grace Callahan; siblings, Jack, Gerald and Jeanne Sisser.

A special thank you is extended to the staff and caregivers at St. Therese.

Memorial Mass: Tuesday (Nov. 10) at 11 a.m. at the Church of St. Austin, 41st and Thomas Ave N., Minneapolis, with visitation there Tuesday after 10 a.m.

Interment will be private.

Memorials are preferred to the St. Therese Foundation.
