Lisa Burdolski, 14, Bismarck, formerly of Minot, died Oct. 31, 2009, as the result of an automobile accident. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at Church of St. Mary, Bismarck, with Rev. Gene Lindemann officiating. Burial will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck.
There will be a gathering time for Lisa's friends and classmates at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Public visitation will continue from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, with vigil services held at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
Lisa was born Feb. 7, 1995, at Grand Forks, N.D., the daughter of Dennis and Becky (Kohl) Burdolski. Her father's military career brought them to Cheyenne, Wyo., until Lisa was 6 years old, when they moved to Minot. She attended McKinley Elementary School in Minot through the fourth grade. They then moved to Washington, D.C., where Lisa attended fifth grade and enjoyed the diversity of big city life. Her family returned home to North Dakota in 2006 and settled in Bismarck, where Lisa currently attended Wachter Middle School. Lisa was a free spirit who loved life. To Lisa, no one was a stranger, only a friend she hadn't met. An adventurer, she looked forward to life around the next corner.
Lisa is survived by: her parents, Dennis and Becky; and her sisters, Elizabeth and Hope, Bismarck; her grandparents, Edward and Lola Burdolski, Kansas City, Kan., and Ivedelle Kohl, Bismarck; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert Kohl.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Gate City Bank in Bismarck in care of the "Lisa Burdolski Memorial Fund." Funds will be used to benefit the Wachter Middle School Music Department, which had such a positive impact on Lisa's life.
