NEW ROCKFORD Barbara Ione Schrum, 85, New Rockford, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, in a Carrington hospital.

She was born Jan. 14, 1924, in Berlin, N.D., and was raised by her grandparents, Wilbur and Emilie Blatchford. She married Adam Schrum May 1, 1943, in LaMoure.

Survivors: sons, Richard of Mounds, Okla., Ervin of Houston, Wilbur, Raeford, N.C., Bob, Dickinson; daughters, Lois Larson, Carrington, Elaine Renshaw, Royse City, Texas; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; half brothers, Walter, Richard and Joe Fredette, all of the Pittsville, Wis., area, Gary Fredette of Houston; an aunt raised as her sister, Gladys Stowell, The Dalles, Ore.

Funeral: Today, 2 p.m., United Methodist Church, New Rockford.

Burial: Prairie Home Cemetery, New Rockford.

Visitation: Today, 9 a.m. to noon, in Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford.
