Two men to be inducted into school’s Hall of Fame
Maynard Sandberg and the Rev. Keith Wald will be inducted Saturday into the Minot Catholic Schools Hall of Fame.
Sandberg is being honored for being a long-time supporter of the Minot Catholic Schools. He's served on numerous boards and has provided numerous scholarships to students attending Bishop Ryan High school. Bishop Ryan and Minot State University each have a room in thier music departments named in honor of Maynard and his late wife, Jeanne.
Wald is being honored for more than 50 years of serving the Catholic Church and education. He has served at parishes and schools in towns across North Dakota, including Minot, Douglas, Raleigh, Watford City, Crosby and Kenmare. For the past eight years he has lived in retirement at Rice Lake and provides church services to the lake community during the summer months. Wald funded a scholarship program that helped families of incoming sixth-graders to Bishop Ryan.
There will be a social from 5:30 to 7 p.m., followed by a dinner at 7 p.m. and the induction ceremony at 8 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Riverside. A silent auction will be held from 5:30 to 11 p.m. and a dance will be held from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., with music by Soul Shine.
