Andrew Striefel
Aug. 7, 1902-Sept. 8, 2009ANAMOOSE Andrew Striefel, 107, Anamoose, formerly of the Orrin and Balta areas, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, in a Harvey nursing home.
He was born Aug. 7, 1902, to Anton and Marianna Striefel in Strasburg, Russia, and came to the U.S. with his family at age 3. He married Genevieve Weninger Nov. 26, 1928, in Orrin.
Survivors: sons, Daniel and Wendelin, both Minot; daughter, Marceline Hoaglund, Anamoose; 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral: Saturday, 10 a.m., St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Anamoose.
Burial: Church cemetery.
Prayer service: Today, 7 p.m., in the church.
Visitation: Today, 2 to 5:30 p.m., Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.
