ALEXANDER Clarence Bolken, 88, Bismarck, formerly of Alexander, Hazen, Williston and Yuma, Ariz., died Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009, in his home.

He was born Aug. 4, 1921, to Carl and Gurina Bolken in Alexander. He entered the Army in 1943 during World War II and served in New Guinea and the Philippines. He was discharged in 1946. He married Grace Anderson on June 5, 1949, in Williston. She died in 1994. He married Doris Shape on March 21, 2002, in Yuma, Ariz.

Survivors: wife; stepdaughter, Janice Borlaug, Hazen.

Funeral: Today, 10 a.m., Trinity Lutheran Church, Alexander.

Burial: Alexander Cemetery, Alexander.
