NEW ROCKFORD Jerome Joseph Zacher, 55, New Rockford, died Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009, in his home.

He was born July 17, 1954, to George and Amelia Zacher in Linton. He enlisted in the Marine Corps at age 17 and made it his career for 25 years until his discharge. He married Mary Zapp on June 3, 1989, in Desert Hot Springs, Calif.

Survivors: wife; sons, Christopher, Colorado Springs, Colo., Jerome Zacher, Germany; daughter, Andrea Oakley, San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren; mother, Bismarck; brothers, Francis, Wilton, Bob, Bruce and Robin, all Bismarck,

Funeral: Thursday, 10:30 a.m., St. John's Catholic Church, New Rockford.

Burial: Plans are pending,

Visitation: Today, noon to 8 p.m., Evans Funeral Home, New Rockford.
