Class A

North Prairie 12,

Lewis & Clark-Our Redeemer's 9

BERTHOLD - A touchdown pass late in the first half made things interesting here in Class A football Friday night.

Lewis & Clark-Our Redeemer's quarterback Clinton Axelson connected with Dan Yale late in the second quarter to give the Bombers a 7-6 lead over North Prairie. The Cougars responded on their first drive of the second half, as they rode Michael Bonn to an 11 run score and went on to win 12-9.

Bonn also had a touchdown run in the first half on his way to rushing for over 100 yards behind improved lineplay through the final two quarters.

"Defensively I thought we played pretty well," NP head coach Davy Zinke said. "Outside of that long touchdown pass we didn't give up much. The line decided to do some blocking and Michael Bonn really ran well in the second half. That said I thought (L&C-ORCS) played a heck of a game."

The Bombers were competing in their first Class A game after moving up from 9-man.

"I was proud of the effort, we just need to be a little more sound overall next time," Bombers head coach Justin Wieseler said. "(NP) has a good physical defense, and I thought we played well defensively as well."
