Glamour shots reborn by local business

August 31, 2009
By WHITNEY PANDIL-EATON

Make-up. Hair. Fashion. Lights. Camera. Glamour.

In a camera case, that's the idea behind the new photography business in town.

Like predecessor Glamour Shots, HotShots! offers individuals and groups the opportunity to have their hair and make-up professionally done and have a professional photographer take the person's photograph in a variety of poses from the everyday to the provocative.

"We took the general concept of Glamour Shots, but I don't know if it was the times of the style it was overdone," said Christine Arends, a professional make-up artist and owner of Platinum Rain Entertainment. "We will still do those same Glamour-type shots of headshots to the bedroom, but we want to mix in some more artful poses."

"The underlying reason we are doing this is to make women feel more confident as they are not the supermodel that they are bombarded with everyday from society," said Kim Whittemore, professional photographer and owner of 360 digitography in Minot. "We don't want to reinvent you, we just want to let you shine."

HotShots! is a business partnership between Arends' Platinum Rain Entertainment and Whittemore's 360 Digitography and is based out of Whittemore's studio, located at 1715 South Broadway.
