Don and Marie Richardson of Minot celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Aug. 7 with a surprise party hosted by their family and friends at the McLean cabin at Detroit Lakes, Minn.
Marie McLean and Don Richardson were married Sept. 4, 1949, in the Methodist Church in Lansford. He was a teacher for 18 years and shop foreman for the North Dakota Department of Transportation. He has been retired for about 14 years. She was office secretary for International Harvester Co. for four years in Minot and two years in Stanley and worked as a secretary at the Drake Public School for two years. She also sells Avon products and has been an Avon representative for the past 49 years. They have spent winters in Mesa, Ariz., for the past 10 years.
Their children are Donna Hess, Castle Rock, Colo.; and Dean Richardson, Santa Fe, N.M. They have one stepgrandchild and one stepgreat-grandchild.
