Walter Trout and the Radicals appear live and in concert 8 p.m. Sunday in the Oak Park Theater.
Trout this year celebrates 20 years in music and is touring in support of his new CD release, "Unspoiled by Progress: 20 Years of the Blues."
Trout has played with such superstar bands as John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers and John Lee Hooker's band.
The opening band is Minot's Crooked Gospel.
Tickets are $20 can be purchased at Jacobsen Music, Budget Music and Oak Park Theater, all in Minot.

Children invited to audition for choirs
Auditions for the Western Plains Children's Choirs for the 2009-10 season will be held Sept. 3-4 from 3:30 to 6 p.m. in Old Main, Room 121 at Minot State University.
Aspiring singers in grades three through 10 are invited to audition. The two groups train with a broad range of music and some choreography. Participants present concerts during the school year and are eligible to take part in the summer musical. For more information or to arrange a specific audition time, call Rebecca Petrik at 858-3837.

Quilt show set for Williston gallery
WILLISTON "All My Best: Quilts by Kathleen Moorhead Johnson" will be displayed Sept. 8-27 at the James Memorial Art Center.
Moorhead Johnson began quilting in 1984 and has been leading workshops in North Dakota and South Dakota, Montana and Minnesota since 1986. She lives in Alexander.
On Sept. 15 at 5:30 p.m. Moorhead Johnson will present a gallery talk featuring a bed turning with original quilts from her company August Wind Quilt Designs. The gallery talk is sponsored in part by a grant from the Williston Star Fund. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.

Bring some food and enjoy the show
STANLEY The Jore Family of Williston will appear in concert at 3 and 7 p.m. Sunday in the Sibyl Center in Stanley.
The family will share hope and encouragement through their music in two different shows. Between the two performances, a community potluck will be held 5 p.m. at the American Lutheran Church fellowship hall, one block south of the Sibyl Center.
Described as "real down-to-earth folks" who relate in a genuine way with their audiences, the Jores are an entertaining and talented family. Their repertoire includes inspirational country, gospel and old-time music. Collectively they play more than 25 instruments.
Phil Jore served as director of Upper Missouri Bible Camp and many in the area are familiar with his rich baritone voice. Jore Haus of Musik in Williston has been teaching stringed instruments to North Dakota and Montana residents since 1995.

Auditions open for 'Monk-y Business II'
Mouse River Players Community Theatre in Minot will have auditions for the musical comedy "Monk-y Business II: Back in the Sandals Again" Friday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 2 to 3:30 p.m., Arlene Saugstad Theater, downtown Minot, 115-1st St. SE.
The cast includes five males of varying ages and musical vocal ranges. If an alternate audition time is needed, please call 838-3939 to arrange a time. Also, anyone interested in helping with offstage work may also come to the auditions.
The director will be Paula Lindekugel-Willis.
