Minot High School head boys swimming and diving coach Jake Solper has been named the head for the girls program.
"There's a lot to being head coach, but when you've got good assistants and athletes, it takes the weight off, so I'm looking forward to (the new position)," Solper said.
Solper, who took over for long time head coach Ken Disher last season, takes over for last season's head girls coach Dan Hinton. Hinton resigned the position last spring to take a student teaching position in Florida.
While he will now a full plate with the two head coaching jobs, Solper isn't expecting a tough transition into taking over the girls team.
"I'm just really looking forward to the season," he said. "We will once again have a really good, well-rounded team. We've got a great group of seniors, and anytime you have that type of leadership it makes your job a lot easier."
