Although small in stature, Lil' Ed Williams is billed as a blues giant, and among the last authentic West Side Chicago bluesmen. Ranging among slide guitar boogie beats to raw-boned Chicago shuffles to the deepest slow blues, Lil' Ed Williams is a gifted guitarist and a gritty and soulful vocalist.
Together with his road-tested band, The Blues Imperials, Williams takes the stage at the Oak Park Theater Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. with guest opener The Morning Red.
Lil' Ed and The Blues Imperials named the 2009 Blues Music Awards Band of the Year are touring in support of their CD release "Full Tilt," listed as one of Amazon's top 10 blues releases for 2008.
Tickets, $12 each, are available at the Oak Park Theater, Budget Music and Jacobsen Music. For more information, call promotion team J&S Productions at 839-8007.
