Class A girls complete sweep
FARGO - Bismarck Century graduate Tricia Sorensen scored 12 points on 4-of-6 shooting to lead the Class A All-Stars in an 83-74 win over the Class B All-Stars in the second game of the Lions All-Stars Girls Basketball series Wednesday.
Devils Lake's Alicia Greening and Fargo South's Caitlyn Haring chipped in 10 points apiece for the Class A All-Stars, which shot 60 percent from the field and 50 percent from the free throw line.
"Our defense just wasn't there," Class B All-Stars coach Jason Schwarz said. "They shot 60 percent and you can't use the excuse that the other team was hot. Yeah, they shot well, but we didn't get a hand out and defend them well enough."
Leading the Class B All-Stars was Kenmare's Kendra Miller (17 points on 7 of 9 shooting) and Bottineau's Shaunna Knife (17 points on 5 of 14 shooting). The Class A All-Stars held a 44-28 rebounding edge, but committed 25 turnovers to Class B's 16.

Game two goes to Class A boys
FARGO - The Class A All-Stars shot 43 percent from the field and got a team-high 15 points from West Fargo graduate Michael Benson in a 78-72 win over the Class B All-Stars in the final game of the Lions All-Stars Boys Basketball Series Wednesday.
Benson was a perfect 4 for 4 from the free throw line for the Class A All-Stars, who made 17 of 23 free throws.
The Class B All-Stars trailed 34-31 at the halftime break and got a team-high 20 points from Turtle Lake-Mercer's Cameron Malzer. Malzer finished 7 of 15 from the field for the Class B All-Stars, who shot 26 of 68 from the floor.
Minot High gradutate Andrew Crosby put in nine points for the Class A All-Stars on 3 of 3 shooting.
