Elise ‘Louise’ Neether
March 22, 1939-July 20, 2009Elise "Louise" Neether, 70, Stanley, died Monday, July 20, 2009, in a Stanley nursing home.
Elise was born March 22, 1939, to Johann and Babette (Lockenmeyer) Berger at Kitzingen, Germany. She met Thomas Neether when he served in the Army in Germany. They were married March 15, 1958, in Kitzingen. After his discharge in 1958, they moved to his family farm in Clearwater Township, where they farmed and ranched together until his death on Oct. 31, 1993.
Louise moved into Stanley and worked as a cook at Joyce's Cafe, Northern Lights and Two-Way North. She also volunteered at the Stanley Food Pantry.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, shopping, fishing and spending time with her family and friends.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory: her son, Raymond (Gail), of Stanley; and her daughter, Linda (Kevin) Clark, Grand Blanc, Michigan; granddaughter Taylor Clark, Grand Blanc, Michigan, and granddaughter Jennifer Max, Minot; sister Rosie (Andras) Draxler, Kitzingen, Germany; special friend Jacque Wing, Stanley; and nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom; and son Robert.
Funeral services: American Lutheran Church, Stanley, today, July 23, 2009, at 2 p.m.
Burial: Fairview Cemetery, Stanley.
Visitation: Today from 9 a.m. until noon at Springan Funeral Home, Stanley.
