Seth C. Hawes
Oct. 16, 1979-July 16, 2009Seth Clayton Hawes, 29, Minot, died Thursday, July 16, 2009, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Burlington.
Seth was born Oct. 16, 1979, at Honolulu, the son of Karl and Lana (LaDuke) Hawes. He was raised at near Minot and educated in the Minot Public Schools. He was united in marriage to Sherri Johnson on Oct. 6, 2008, at Minot. He was employed as a cook at the Ruthville Restaurant & Bar at the time of his death.
Seth loved to play darts and participated in softball leagues. He played with two state champion softball teams. He loved the outdoors, fishing, golfing, along with goose and duck hunting. He had a wonderful childhood and made friends easily. He was great at making everyone he knew smile and laugh easily and often.
His loving family includes: wife, Sherri; children, Lacey, Donald and Lucas; father, Karl (Viana) Hawes, Velva; mother, Lana Hawes, Minot; brother, Brad Hawes, Fort Knox, Ky., and currently serving in Afghanistan; stepbrothers, Michael Spang, Minot, Jason and Cory Spang, both of Bismarck; grandmother, Vi Hosie, Surrey; aunts, Gerri Howerton, Salem, Ind., Pat Keperling, Las Vegas, Helen Gabel, Lancaster, Calif.; uncles, Gene Hawes, Wedowee, Ala., Larry LaDuke, Wheatridge, Colo., Bill Gabel, Minot, Vince Gabel, Granville; sisters-in-law, Terri Erickson, Rolette, Nancy Ortiz, Vallinger, Texas; brothers-in-law, Craig Johnson, Rolette, and Jeff Johnson, Harvey; mother-in-law and father in-law, Terry and Donna Johnson, Rolette,
Seth was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gertrude LaDuke, Elza LaDuke, Eugene Hawes, Loleta Hawes, Albin Johnson and Donald and Mable Martin.
Funeral services: Thursday, July 23, 2009, at 2 p.m. in First Presbyterian Church, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Visitation: Today, July 22, from noon to 5 p.m., in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
