Roy and Mary L. Abrahamson, Blaisdell, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house, Sunday, July 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Berthold Senior Citizen Center. Their children and grandchildren will host the event. The couple requests no gifts. No local invitations will be sent.
They were married Aug. 30, 1959, at Shell Creek Lutheran Church, rural Blaisdell. Roy farmed and worked road construction for many years. He worked at the Standard Oil Station in Parshall during the winter months. He also custom combined for 12 years from North Dakota to Oklahoma. He has driven truck with his three sons at Abrahamson Trucking, Minot. Mary was a school teacher in a Berthold country school and earned a standard teaching certificate at Minot Teachers College and continued to teach in Plaza, Parshall and Blaisdell. They moved to their farm south of Blaisdell in 1967 and live there today. They have four children, Kirk Abrahamson, Stacy Abrahamson, Harley Abrahamson, all of Minot, and Kristi Redding, Donnybrook, eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
