Farm and general safety will be the focus of the newly named "Pat-NOW Playground-Kids Farm Safety Camp" scheduled for July 21 from 9 a.m. to noon on the lot west of the Farm Credit Services office in Minot on 31st Avenue Southwest.
The safety camp, sponsored by Farm Credit Services of North Dakota, is open to youth ages 6 to 14.
There will be safety stations that address topics such as fire and electrical safety, traffic safety and seat belts, animal safety, lawn mower safety, basic first aid, railroad crossing safety, firearm safety, and a variety of farmyard hazard prevention demonstrations.
Camp presenters will include a variety of safety specialists from the Minot area including the Mid-Dakota Chapter of Farm Safety 4 Just Kids. Joe Goldade, meteorologist for KXMC-TV, will discuss weather safety issues before lunch.
There is no fee for the camp and families are encouraged to register their children by July 17. To register, or for more information, call 852-1265 or 1-800-264-1265.
