Roger E. Anderson

Roger E. Anderson, 76, Minot, formerly of Flaxton, died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, in Minot at Trinity Hospital.

Roger was born March 9 1933, at St. Paul, Minn., the son of Edward J. and Selma (Vogen) Anderson.

He was raised and educated in Lansboro, Minn. He entered into active duty service with the U.S. Air Force in 1955 and was honorably discharged on July 28, 1961.

Roger lived in Leadville, Colo., and had worked as a coal miner. He then worked as a carpenter in Colorado Springs, Colo. He moved to North Dakota where he did carpentry work in northwest North Dakota. He was known for his cabinetry work and attention to detail. He later made his home in Flaxton before moving to Minot in 2006.

Roger enjoyed fishing, love of cars, dancing, stock car races and reading.

His family includes: daughter, Rochelle (Steve) Paulson, Grand Forks; grandchildren, Chaalse, Danielle and Clayton Paulson; sisters, Arlene (Sanford) Staupe, Preston, Minn., Sylvia (Hal) Whitfield, Minneapolis; and nieces and nephews, Lynn Staupe, Patty Staupe, John Whitfield, and Kathy Ott.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; and a nephew, Dale Staupe.

Funeral service: Monday, June 29, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

At the request of the family, there will be no reveiwal, however, family and friends are invited to sign a memorial register book at the funeral home today, June 28, 2009, from noon until 5 p.m.

Interment: Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, rural Mandan.
