David Halvorson, 67, of Williston, ND, died peacefully at his home on Thursday, June 25, 2009. No services are planned at this time. Friends may sign the online register book and give their condolences at (www.fulkersons.com).

David Helmer Halvorson was born February 13, 1942, to Helmer and Audrey Halvorson at Devils Lake, ND. He was raised and educated in the Devils Lake area and graduated from Devils Lake High School in 1960. Upon graduation, David continued to work on the family farm with his father.

On June 6, 1964, he was united in marriage to Sharon Magnuson at Churchs Ferry, ND. They continued farming until 1988 when they moved to Mandan, ND, where they resided for a short time before moving to Williston in 1989. David worked in maintenance at McDonald's and maintenance and receiving at True Value Hardware. He was currently retired.

David was at his happiest when telling stories to family and friends. He loved to go fishing, and enjoyed gardening and working in the yard. He was always a farmer at heart. He treasured his family and will be missed by each one of them.

David is survived by his wife, Sharon of Williston, ND; sons, Keith (Sharlo) Halvorson of Williston, ND, and Richard (Indra) Halvorson of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Lexi Halvorson and Kaija Halvorson; brothers, Richard (Dorothy) Halvorson of Jamestown, ND, and Roger (Patty) Halverson of Port Orchard, WA; sisters, Marian Kurtz of Devils Lake, ND, Vivian (Wally) Peterson of Belfair, WA, Lois (Gene) LaBissoniere of Minneapolis, MN, and Sandra (Bill) Bartle of Leeds, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; numerous aunts and uncles; two nephews; and several cousins.
