Sixth-grader Briana Schulenberg's poster was selected as the winner from among 45 entered in the Plum Valley Lions Club of Minot's annual peace poster contest.
Students in the sixth and seventh grades at Bishop Ryan School, Minot, created posters fitting the theme, "Peace Begins With Me." Contest winner Schulenberg is entering the seventh-grade this fall.
Runners-up were: Maddie Wald and Elle Brezenski. Among honorable mentions were Austin Eggl, Madelyn Lipp, Tori Ploof, Lexie Kroeger, Jerry Allery and Aaron Burckhard. Teachers for the winning students were Karma Gumbert and Diana Zander.

Schulenberg's poster was forwarded to district level competition. District winners advance to the international competition. The international winner receives a monetary award and will be invited to a day at the United Nations. Runner-up posters and the winning poster are featured annually in the Lion International Magazine and on the Lions International Web site.
