Kathrine Keller, 75, of Turtle Lake, N.D., died Friday, June 12, 2009, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Turtle Lake.

Kathrine "Katie" was born July 28, 1933, at Esmond, N.D., to Balthazar and Magdalena (Sitter) Marquart. She attended school in Esmond and graduated from high school in 1953. Following high school, she worked as a nurse's assistant at the Harvey Hospital.

She married Adam M. Keller on Feb. 6, 1956, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Balta, N.D. They resided in Esmond until 1960, when they moved to rural Washburn, N.D, where Katie raised her family. In 1971, they moved into Washburn, where they resided until moving to Turtle Lake in 1978. Katie kept busy by working as a custodian at Verna's Department Store and the Turtle Lake Post Office.

She enjoyed camping and fishing with Adam, tending to her garden and canning produce. She was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Turtle Lake. Katie enjoyed simple pleasures like spending quiet moments with family and close friends. Her kind heart, cheerful and positive attitude impacted everyone around her. She remained happy regardless of how complex life could be at times. She led a simple life and always looked for the best in all people.

Those grateful to have shared in her life include: her two sons, Dennis (Vicky) Keller of Mercer, N.D., and Randy (Sandy) Keller of Bismarck, N.D.; three daughters, Dottie Reed of Atlanta, Ga., Linda (Jerome) Huelsman of Turtle Lake, and Betty Luna of Mandan, N.D.; fourteen grandchildren Josh Keller, Kassie Keller, Sunny McKinsey, Paul McKinsey, Andrea (Ivan) Russell, J.R. (Stacci) Reed, Michael (Jennifer) Huelsman, Jamie (Kurt) Ziebarth, Jessica (Tim) Volochenko, Randy Keller, Ashley (Jeremy) Likness, Alexis Garibay, Jacob Garibay and Olivia Luna; 12 great-grandchildren Nathaniel Solomon, Tony Solomon, Nastacia Phillip, Jadae McKinsey, Paul McKinsey, Avianna McKinsey, Nevaeh McKinsey, Romello Branton, Dreeonnie Heart, Bridger Huelsman, Sydney Likness and Braxton Likness; four brothers, Bennie Marquart and Leo Marquart of Maddock, Joe Marquart of Devils Lake and John Marquart of Williston; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam; one sister, Victoria Sorenson; one brother, Tony; and her parents.

Funeral Services: Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at 10:30 a.m., in St. Bonaventure's Catholic Church, Underwood, N.D.

Interment: Turtle Lake Cemetery.

A fellowship lunch will be served at the Turtle Lake American Legion Hall following the graveside service.

Visitation: Today, June 15, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., at Goetz Funeral Home in Turtle Lake.

Prayer Service: Today at 7 p.m. in St. Bonaventure's Catholic Church, Underwood.
