Man thrown from motorcycle

A 24-year-old Cando man was injured Sunday afternoon when he lost control of his motorcycle while driving around a curve on U.S. Highway 281, five miles south of Cando.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Brandon Berndt was traveling north at 4:10 p.m. Sunday when his motorcycle entered the west ditch, rolled onto its side and then slid into some water. Berndt was thrown from the motorcycle and broke his ankle. He was taken to Towner County Medical Center for treatment.
Charges are pending, according to the Highway Patrol.
