MADDOCK Garold Lavester Theise, 89, Mandan, formerly of Maddock, died Wednesday, May 6, 2009, in a Mandan nursing home.
He was born July 29, 1919, to William and Ella Theise at Hamberg. He served in the Army from Jan. 29, 1942, to Oct. 15, 1945, during World War II in Puerto Rico. He married Arlene Fossen Oct. 20, 1951, in St. Paul, Minn.
Survivors: daughter, Gail Mayer, Mandan; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sister, Verna White, West Monroe, La.
Funeral: Tuesday, 1 p.m., North Viking Lutheran Church, Maddock.
Burial: Church cemetery.
Visitation: Monday, 4 to 7 p.m., Nelson Funeral Home, Maddock, and Tuesday one hour before the funeral in the church.
