MINOT AIR FORCE BASE The 91st Missile Wing at Minot Air Force Base will conduct a simulated electronic launch exercise Tuesday.
The simulated launch will be conducted at a Minuteman III launch facility in the Minot missile field. Nearly all of the actions for launch will be done, up to the launcher door being rolled back, base officials said.
The simulated launch testing is one of a number of programs done regularly to verify the safety, security and reliability of the intercontinental ballistic missile weapon system.
The missile wing has 150 Minuteman III ICBMs and 15 missile alert facilities in the Minot missile field.
