A convoy of 5th Munitions Squadron personnel from Minot Air Force Base transports weapons as part of the Prairie Vigilance exercise Wednesday, shown in this photo by Airman 1st Class Jesse Lopez. Prairie Vigilance is a nuclear operational readiness exercise designed to demonstrate safe, secure and reliable nuclear weapons standards and procedures. The exercise, which began Wednesday at the Minot base, tests more than 3,500 personnel over 10 days with joint coordination between the 5th Bomb Wing at the Minot base and the 2nd Bomb Wing from Barksdale AFB in Louisiana, and support of the Minot base’s 91st Missile Wing.
