US Highway 2 closed 2 miles east of Granville due to flooding

Both eastbound and westbound roadways of U.S. 2 are closed from the Junction of Highway 41 directly west of Granville to the Junction of Highway 14 directly west of Towner. NDDOT and NDHP are allowing local traffic only between the Junctions of Highway 41 and Highway 14 in areas not affected by water. Other Traffic will be detoured as follows:
Eastbound traffic will detour east of Minot onto U.S. Highway 52 to the Junction of Highway 14 four miles east of Balfour, travel north on Highway 14 back to U.S. 2 near Towner.
Westbound traffic will detour onto ND Highway 14 approximately four miles west of Towner, south on Hwy 14 to U.S. Highway 52 and then northwest back to U.S. Highway 2 near Minot.
Motorists are urged to use caution and reduce speeds while traveling in this area. Fluctuating water levels make it difficult to predict when and where water will go over a roadway or recede from the roadway.
Due to high water near roadways in many areas across the state, motorists are encouraged to use caution while traveling, vehicles that leave the roadway may become immersed in high water.
