RAPID CITY, S.D. An area woman was among nominees for Aberdeen Area Indian Health Service annual awards presented in late March in Rapid City, S.D.
Stella Berquist, who serves as the Tribal Health chief executive officer at the Minne-Tohe Health Center on the Fort Berthold Reservation, was nominated as Tribal Health Administrator of the Year for the Aberdeen Area. She has been with the Minne-Tohe Health Center, serving as its chief executive officer for nearly a year.
According to individuals from the Aberdeen Area Office, Berquist was nominated for her exemplary work and support of her staff during the establishment of the overall Telepharmacy implementation and operation for the Minne-Tohe Clinic and satellite clinics located on Fort Berthold. Presently, the Three Affiliated Tribes Minne-Tohe Clinic is the only clinic in the Aberdeen Area Region providing telepharmacy services for their patients.
Approximately 23 awards were issued to health officials and medical professionals who are employed and provide services at any of the 12 Indian Health Service facilities on the reservations in North Dakota, South Dakota and Nebraska.
