Speaker of whose house?
We're not even sure what to make of statements made by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi recently to a gathering of illegal and legal immigrants. But we know the comments are troubling, to say the least. Very troubling.
Pelosi told the group that enforcement of existing immigration laws, specifically worksite raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, are "un-American. I?can't say enough, the raids must end. The raids must end."
The speaker went further.
"You are special people," she told the group, which was gathered at a church in San Francisco. "You're here on a Saturday night to take responsibility for our country's future. That makes you very, very patriotic."
Huh?
If Pelosi was talking to a group of legal immigrants, that may be acceptable. Maybe. But according to reports, the speaker knew the crowd included illegal immigrants, who, let's not forget, gained entry into this country illegally, thumbing their noses at our laws.
And now Pelosi is doing the same thing, pooh-poohing the very laws she, as Speaker of the House, should be upholding. It's embarrassing and unpatriotic.
How can the woman who is potentially one accident away from becoming president of the United States act this way? And why isn't there more media and public outcry when someone as powerful as Pelosi makes such ludicrous statements?
We've said it before and we'll repeat it now we are in no way against legal immigration. It's what helped make this country what it is today.
But we believe immigration reform cannot even begin until existing laws are first enforced. We must stop the current wave of illegal immigrants that flows across our borders on a daily basis. Then, and only then, can the United States begin to forge a better immigration policy for the future.
But when powerful politicians like Pelosi are knowingly praising illegal immigrants for taking responsibility for our country, something's seriously wrong. We're embarrassed for her, but we doubt she'll be changing her tune anytime soon. And that's the real scary part.

Ii is disgusting that Obama, Pelosi, and other Democrats are promoting "comprehensive immigration reform" when our borders are still unsecured and there are over 12 million Americans out of work and unemployment is at a 26-year high. We all know that "comprehensive reform" means mass amnesty for millions of illegal foreign workers. We tried this with the 1986 IRCA amnesty; it failed and actually led to more illegal immigration. And now the Democrats and open-border special & ethnocentric interests want to do this again. Please get involved now to stop this madness. Join NumbersUSA and call your Reps to tell them to oppose "comprehensive reform" amnesty and to instead support enforcement of our existing immigration laws.

Nancy Pelosi should be ashamed of herself by advocating lawlessness and insulting the law enforcement professionals at ICE. If she knows of any specific instances of misconduct by ICE, she should have the guts to name names; if not, she should shut up. We all know what she is doing: advocating amnesty and open borders for millions of illegals so that she & the Democrats can grow their political power base at the expense of taxpaying Americans. Disgusting.

I feel the time has come to convene a Committee on Un-American Activities and subpoena elected officials such as Nancy Pelosi to testify before it. Pelosi is clearly not acting in the best interests of the United States of America when she criticizes the actions of ICE agents for arresting illegal aliens, and then calls said illegal aliens "patriotic". I find Pelosi's comments to be outrageous and I am both embarrased and concerned that the Speaker of the House of Representatives holds such viewpoints on the subject of illegal immigration.

There is nothing more important to Nancy Pelosi then campaign money and Nancy Pelosi. She will do whatever it takes to get reelected..Beg Borrow Steal and Support illegals..And how about all the Democrats that agree with her.. Our whole system makes me sick! Guys like Kennedy that are too sick to work so they fly him in for votes and then fly him back home..Altho I do not like him I hope he has a full recovery and then has brains enough to retire.. He owes that much to the USA>

They spoke on this on Fox News the other day, which of course more of the conservatives watch and of course you won't see anything on CNN on this. I am glad to see the Minot Daily News speaking on this. Yes, I feel our stimulus plan that has been implemented by President Obama is going to bail out her state of California so she needs to shut up. Yes she also better watch it especially after abusing government aircraft for her own use and wasting tax payer dollars. Why aren't they making a bigger deal about this especially if they're the ones attacking these big companies givine bonuses to their executives. Enough is Enough. Send your tea bags on April 1. You can even send them to Nancy Pelosi!

If she can get illegal aliens integrated and voting, then she guarantees herself power forever. Maybe Mrs Pelosi should speak to my father, who is a police officer a few hours south of her district, and let him tell her all about the illegal gangs coming up from Southern California and wreaking havoc on my hometown. We had better start paying attention to our own congressional delegation's actions, as they have been walking in lockstep with the Speaker on an increasingly disturbing pace.
