Eleanor Berg of Minot will celebrate her 100th birthday at an open house Friday, March 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. in Wintering Creek Assisted Living, 1608-16th St. NW.
Eleanor was born March 20, 1909, in Hickson, to John and Gusty Stensrud. She grew up in Hickson and Valley City. She worked as a housekeeper for the Paulson family in Valley City until she married Melvin Berg in 1937. They lived in Valley City until 1950 when they moved to Minot. She was one of the first people to move into the Milton Young Towers when it opened in fall of 1969. She lived there for more than 30 years.
Eleanor is a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot. She was active in the church's quilting group and the Minot Prairie Quilt Guild. She has three daughters, Barb Aase, Minot, and the late Bonnie Cswerko and the late Betty Lochthowe. six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
