March 1, 2009
Minot Daily News

BISMARCK Current service members and veterans of any military branch and their families now have a single place to go in Bismarck that will provide information, answers and resources specific to their military needs.

The Military Service Center held a grand opening this past week at its site at 1850 E. Bismarck Expressway.

Operated by the North Dakota National Guard, the center brings together professionals, resources and services to aid those who have served their country.

Nineteen people work at the center including chaplains, licensed social workers, a suicide prevention team, sexual assault response coordinator, transition assistance adviser and a family readiness team. Staff is available to assist with providing identification cards and enrollment in the Defense Eligibility Enrollment Reporting System (DEERS), as well as to advise on resources available through Military OneSource. Bismarck's Family Assistance Center and the North Dakota National Guard's Family Program Office also have relocated to the new site.

For more information about the center call 333-4800.
