Extension service specialist develops ACRE program

March 1, 2009
Minot Daily News

Andy Swenson, North Dakota State University Extension Service farm management specialist, has developed a program titled, ACRE Analyzer. This spreadsheet is designed to assist farmers in making the decision to participate in ACRE, the option revenue-based program, that is part of the new farm bill.

The ACRE Analyzer is available on the NDSU Extension Service Farm Management Web site. Do an Internet search for NDSU Extension Service Farm Management, the Web site will come up and the ACRE Analyzer is at the very top of the page.

Read the introduction tab on the bottom of the sheet first. The actual calculations are made when you open the ACRE tab on the bottom. You need to complete all the yellow cells for the crops that you plan on growing.

For assistance with the program, e-mail Ward County Extension Agent Mike Rose at mike.rose@ndsu.edu.
