FARGO (AP) - Potato stocks in North Dakota are up 3 percent from a year ago, but down 14 percent from 2007.
The Agriculture Department says the amount of potatoes held by growers, dealers and processors on Feb. 1 stood at 10.3 million hundredweight. Current stocks represent 45 percent of production.
Nationwide, potato stocks on Feb. 1 stood at 183 million hundredweight - down 8 percent from last year and down 5 percent from 2007.
