Paul and Betty Berg, rural Douglas, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house starting at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, in the Minot Moose Lodge. There will be music from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. Invitations are not required to attend. Their children will host the event. The family requests no gifts.
Paul Berg and Betty Zilka were married Feb. 22, 1959, in St. John's Lutheran Church, Ryder. They made their home on the family farm in the Douglas area, where Paul made a living raising cattle, trucking, working in construction and farming. Betty held various positions ranging from secretary to the manager of the Railroad Museum. She was employed by 1st Minot Management until she retired in 2004. They have four children, Brian Berg, Duane Berg and Bryce Berg, all rural Douglas, and Darla Iverson, rural Minot, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
