The North Dakota Highway Patrol and the N.D. Department of Transportation will close portions of Interstate 94 and U.S. Highway 83 at 6 p.m. because of hazardous travel conditions and impassable roadways. I-94 , eastbound and westbound, will be closed from Mandan to Dickinson. U.S. Highway 83, northbound and southbound, will be closed from Bismarck to Minot beginning at 6 p.m. Local traffic will be allowed to travel as far as Washburn as long as conditions allow but no traffic will be allowed north of Washburn due to impassable roads.

Motorists should call 511, the Statewide Road Reporting Line, or visit the Web site at www.dot.nd.gov/roadreport/roadreport/roadreport.asp for more information.

There is no travel advised for U.S. Highway 2 east of Minot or on other state and county highways south of U.S. Highway 2 because of heavy snow accumulation and poor visibility.

The Minot school district also has postponed parent-teacher conferences that were scheduled tonight from 4 to 7 in the elementary schools. The parent-teacher conferences have been rescheduled to Nov. 13. The times that were originally scheduled will be followed that day.
