POSTED: October 12, 2008

The Minot area received its first snowfall of the season Saturday morning, although the white stuff didn't stay around.

The city received .08 inches of precipitation during the 24 hours that ended at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Minot Air Force Base recorded a trace.

Snow fell in a few places around the region. Bottineau County reported receiving a trace, and Mountrail County had a few flakes. Divide County reported getting rain overnight Friday, and Mercer County also had a trace of moisture.

Williston recorded .01 of an inch of precipitation, while Garrison and Bismarck each reported .05 inches.

The greatest amount of rainfall was in the Grand Forks area. The city reported 1.24 inches and the air base .55 inches. Fargo received .22 inches and Jamestown .46 inches.

Minot's forecast calls for more rain or snow today and Monday.
