Robert B. Baker
Feb. 24, 1951-Oct. 6, 2008Robert B. Baker, 57, Minot, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, in a Mandan hospital, following a courageous struggle with diabetes.
Robert was born on Feb. 24, 1951, the son of Bruce and Mary Ann (Braun) Baker in Bismarck. He was raised and educated at various locations throughout North Dakota, graduating from Minot High School in 1969.
Following graduation, he worked for Vals Cyclery, Cloverdale Meats and in July 1974, started a career with the Burlington Northern Railroad. He was employed as a brakeman for the railroad until ill health forced him to retire in 2003.
On April 2, 1998, Robert was united in marriage to Cheryl Busch. They made their home in Minot.
Robert was a member of the United Transportation Union. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed camping and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, and several aunts and uncles.
Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at 11 a.m. at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot.
Burial: A private family burial will take place.
Vigil prayer service: Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at 6 p.m. in the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.
Visitation: Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
