Agnes Heimdal

Agnes Heimdal, 95, of Tioga, North Dakota, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2008, at the Tioga Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, July 28, 2008, at Zion Free Lutheran Church in Tioga. Pastor Rodger Olson will officiate and interment will follow at Zion Cemetery. Agnes Heimdal was born February 8, 1913, on a farm by Ellendale, Minnesota, to Henry and Lena (Wanberg) Wilker. She went to a country school near Ellendale. She attended High School at Owatonna, Minnesota.
On December 22, 1941, Agnes married Trygve Heimdal at the Methodist parsonage in Ellendale. They made their home in Tioga, North Dakota. While Trygve was in the Army, Agnes stayed Owatonna, Minnesota.
She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid, the Tioga Senior Citizens and the American Legion Auxiliary. Agnes loved to sew, needlepoint, and read. She always enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Agnes is survived by her sons, Larry (Wanda) Heimdal of Andover, MN. and Raymond (Cheri) Heimdal of Denton, TX; seven grandchildren, Kristen Heimdal of Columbus, OH, Alisha Heimdal of Colorado Springs, CO, Steven (Laura) Heimdal of Chicago, IL, Troy (Janice) Heimdal of Sanger, TX, Kim Grove of Devils Lake, ND, Trygve D. (Jodee) Heimdal of Pilot Point, TX, and Barry (Teresa) Heimdal of Sanger, TX; 13 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Donald Wilker of Owatonna, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Trygve; her parents; brothers Alver, Clarence, and Melvin Wilker; sisters, Mamie and Adeline Wilker, Alice Stewart, Helen Miller and Wava Hyde; and great-grandson Blake Heimdal.
Friends may call at the Fulkerson Funeral Home in Tioga on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
