Marion D. Olson
Oct. 7, 1920-July 17, 2008Marion Drusilla Olson, 87, of Minot, and formerly of the Lansford area, died Thursday, July 17, 2008, at a Minot hospital.
She was born Oct. 7, 1920, in Kenmare to Robert and Martha (Holmes) Kerr. She was raised in Fairdale and attended school there.
She married Milton Olson Dec. 22, 1946, in Fairdale. Marion taught at area elementary schools for many years, retiring from Lansford.
During their retirement years, they lived at Lake Metigoshe. In recent years, they lived in Minot to be near their children. Milton died Feb. 6, 1996.
Marion attended Lynch Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Glenburn, and was active in the Order of Eastern Star in both Granville and Lansford. Marion had a special love of cats, crocheting and playing bingo. Marion also loved fishing from the pontoon, driving the golf cart for Milton and having a cup of coffee looking at the lake.
Family: children, Bev Kasprick, Hillsboro, Sharon Olson, Mandan, Drusilla Keating (companion, Richard Hamilton), Minot, Carmen Robert (Lynnette) Olson, Minot, Chris M. (Faith) Olson, Billings, Mont.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Delores Kerr, Mankato, Minn., Angie Benn, Fargo, Clarice Schimmelpfennig, Minot, and brothers-in-law, Henry Olson and Carmen (Donna Mae) Olson, both of Minot.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Russell Brummond; granddaughter, Dianne Olson; sons-in-law, Mylan Brummond, William Keating, Ernie Kasprick, Wally Bartch and Erling Olson; and brothers, Donald and Reginald Kerr.
Funeral: Monday, July 21, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at Lynch Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Glenburn.
Burial: Our Savior Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Glenburn.
