Jeffrey Edwin Rostad, 42, Cambridge, Minn., formerly of Minot, died Saturday, June 14, 2008, in his home.
Jeff was born on May 17, 1966, in Minot, to Evron and Marilyn (Christianson) Rostad. He was raised in Minot and attended Campus Elementary School and Erik Ramstad Middle School prior to attending Minot High School. Jeff was baptized and confirmed at First Presbyterian Church in Minot. He moved to the Clearwater/ Tampa, Fla., area in 1986. He received his General Educational Development diploma in Florida prior to attending Seminole Community College, where he received specialized training in marine mechanics. He was employed as a marine mechanic for several years before he established Rostad Marine in Cambridge, Minn., in 2001. His passion was being the best marine mechanic he could be.
Jeff's family includes: his parents, Evron and Marilyn Rostad of Minot; brothers, Todd (Janelle) Rostad of Minot, Timothy (Sharon) Rostad of Burlington, and Randy Rostad (Peggy Johnson) of Minot; niece and nephew, Jennifer and Andrew Rostad, uncles, Lyle Christianson of Minot, Gary Christianson of Diamond Bar, Calif.; aunts, Laverne Miller of Anchorage, Alaska, Valorayne Frantsvog of Moorhead, Minn., DeNae (Ron) Thompson of Bottineau, Kathie (Joe) Bower of Lolo, Mont., Beverly Rostad May (Robert) of Plymouth, MN; and many cousins.
Jeff was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Roy and Edith Christianson; paternal grandparents, Lillie and Edwin Rostad; cousins, Trevor Thompson and Karen Weller; as well as his aunts and uncles, Gordon and Lois Christianson, Ken and Gertrude Rostad, Del Rostad, Martin Miller and Darold Frantsvog.
Memorial service: Saturday, July 19, 2008, at 10 a.m. in First Presbyterian Church, Minot.
Interment: Will be at approximately 1 p.m. in Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare.
Visitation: There will be no reviewal but friends may sign the memorial register on Friday, July 18, from noon until 6 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
