Leo and Vi Walter, Ray, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house Saturday, July 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Grain Palace building in Ray. A dance will follow the open house. Their children and grandchildren will host the event.
Leo Walter and Vi Bachmeier were married Oct. 29, 1958, in Westhope. Leo was a teacher and elementary principal from 1970-1998 and a small business owner. Vi was a child care provider and operated the Snow White Drive-In in Ray from 1974-1996. They have seven children, Sue Becker and Mandy Walter, both of Ray; Tammy Larson, Minot; Leo Walter Jr., Velva; Lee Walter, Las Vegas; Les Walter, Williston; and Mickee Adams, Max; 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
