Donald Raymond Hanson

Donald Raymond Hanson, age 86, passed away June 29, 2008, in Baxter, Minnesota.

Don was born November 23, 1921, to Raymond Alonzo and Neva Murl (Silker) Hanson in Beatrice, Nebraska. Don attended school in Litchfield, MN, and later at Hillsboro, ND. He grew up on the family farm, graduating from Hillsboro High School in 1938.

In 1943 Don married Maxine Louise Brauer of Dubuque, Iowa, who preceded him in death in 1994. Don married Lois (Bohlman) Tweten of Grand Forks, ND, in 1996.

Don was a life-long farmer in Hillsboro area, an active community and church member and an avid golfer, fisherman and pilot.

Don is survived by: his wife, Lois; daughters, Susan (Parm) Narveson of Scottsdale, AZ, Camille (Doug) Nelson of Underwood, MN, Nancy (Mark) Vibeto of Minot, ND, Claudia (Ted) Engelstad of Fargo, ND, Priscilla Hanson of Roseville, CA, Gretchen (Ben) Kirklewski of West Fargo, and Stephanie (Wayne) Burrell of Phoenix, AZ; son Donald (Kathy) Hanson, Jr. of Hillsboro, ND; 28 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren; sister, Lois (Merlin) Borke of Bismarck, ND; and many nieces and nephews.

Don is also survived by his wife Lois' 6 children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Maxine; infant daughter; and grandson, Todd Alonzo Hanson.

Visitation: Wednesday, July 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Hillsboro, ND.

Prayer service: Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the church.

Funeral service: Thursday, July 3, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, in Hillsboro, ND.

Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Hillsboro, ND.
