Susan Heinrich
Nov. 27, 1949-June 23, 2008Susan Kay Heinrich, 58, Gwinner, N.D., born November 27, 1949, died June 23, 2008, at her home under hospice care. A memorial service was held at the Gustaf Adolf Church in Gwinner at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2008. Her funeral service was held on the same day at Bethel Lutheran Church in New Town, N.D., at 7 p.m., with interment at Riverview Cemetery at New Town.
Susan was born on November 27, 1949, in Sanish, N.D. She attended elementary and high school at New Town Public School. Following high school graduation, she attended cosmetology school in Williston, N.D.
In 1973 she married Harlan Heinrich, her husband of 35 years, and together they raised two sons, Jeremy and Justin. Susan had many interests. In addition to her crafts, reading, music, and her dogs, she was enlarging her circle of friends. Susan had many residences in North Dakota throughout her life including the towns of Van Hook, New Town, Forbes, Fullerton, Adrian, Fargo, Litchville, Upham and Gwinner. She also lived in Cold Bay, Grayling and Noatak, Alaska.
The joys of her life were her family: her sons, Jeremy, of Litchville, N.D.; and Justin of Nome, Alaska; her husband, Harlan of Gwinner; her parents, Oscar and Esther Erickson of Minot, N.D.; her sister, Linda Klimpel (Ronald) of Memphis, Tenn.; her sister, Rachel Kinden (Daniel) of Keene, N.D.; her brother, Walter Snyder (Kim) of Minot; her sister, Sandra Wollen (Glenn) of Bismarck, N.D.; and grandchildren, Diego (Justin), and Grace (Jeremy).
Susan had a zest for life and a deep compassion for others. She saw beauty in the world and the people around her. In all her residences, she left a circle of good friends behind who continued to correspond and keep in touch by letters and gifts.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Ann; maternal grandparents, Esther Dutton Carlson and Hagen Carlson; paternal grandparents, Harrison and Gladys Snyder; and maternal aunts, Thelma Stinson and Nellie Layton.
